Something new in the way of ocean cruising is being organised by the -Norddeutscher Lloyd Company. It is proposed to organise^ trips tp t the northern -part j>f -^ Spitsbergen^ based on the -experience' gained by' the German Zeppelin airship expedition ; to enable passengers to visit the various sites at which the expedition called ; and to make extensive excursions and trips into the interior during a compa-rativly long stay in the various fiords. On the face of it this seems jto^ suggest something "vei'y differ-" -ent -from -life in a floating hotel", such -asjs usually associated with cruises to Spitzbergen. *It is here, however, says the London Daily Telegraph, where the novelty of the proposition comes in. While the large steamer in which , the voyagers set out will remain anchored as a floating hotel for considerable periods, a smaller fast steamer will.be >employed to take- passengers on excursions in any desired direction.
