LATE SPORTING.
Matters at Trentham are already commencing to liven up in view of the autumn meeting which is to be held on Friday and Saturday next. J. Lowe brought Gold Lace and Iranui back from Riccarton yesterday, and this morning T. Quinlivan arrived in charge of Uheddar, Montiform, and Royal Scotch. J. H. Prosser is expected to bring a big team over from Porirua to-day. LODGE MEETINGS. The Poneke Lodge, U.A.0.D.. held its fortnightly meeting at Petone on Thursday evening, Bro. Ridge, A.D., presiding- Correspondence and general business were discussed. A letter was received from the Royal Arch Chapter, telling members they would^ be able to obtain their degrees on the 19th inst. at the Druids' Hall, Taranaki-street. A report was received from the Druids' Sports Association to the effect that the new venture was going ahead., Onecandidate presented himself and was. duly initiated. The visitors were P.D.P. Bro. Cunliffo, Star of New Zealand Lodge, and the D.P., in his cfflcial capacity.
