Draing the past 24 hours a cyclonic storm, has merged with a ■westerly low pressure off the Wast Coast of the South Island, canCTng stormy iseßther, with eoasiderabte rain in. most paits of the country. Heavy rain fall in the East Coast districts c£ the South Island last night, send gales were experienced south of Cape Gampbgil. There was also considerable sboj on. the East Coast and onmany pacts of the West Coast. Nortnly winds may be expected, veering to tie wsst-^aam £hen to tho south after 24 to 36 hones. The barometer is very low,' and Hfcely to fall further before a rise takes place, though it is probable it will rise in the South Island after 18 houTB. Heavy rain is also expected. I
