The Standard's Capetown correspondent reports that t"h-e •situation in the Union Parliament has suddenly developed into ar acute crisis, owing to the systematised obstruction by General Hertzog, Minister for Justice, of the proposed compromise on the education question. The correspondent adds that dissention in the ranks of the Government party is rife.
