THEFT OF A PURSE.
MARRIED WOMAN SENT TO GAOL.. [BY TELEGRAPH — PBESS ASSOCIATION.] AUCKLAND, This Day. Mr. Cutten, S.M., gave his decision this morning in the case in which Madelin Graham, a married woman, and Dorothy Buck worth were charged with having stolen a pure containing £4, lefb by another customer on a table in a restaurant. The elder woman threw the blame on the younger. Mr. Cutten concluded that her story was false and that she took the purse and dropped it in her companion's handbag. The police stated that Mrs. Graham occupied a. respect-able position, and nothing was known against her. She frequented raws and betted occasionally. The magistrate imposed a sentence of three months' hard labour
