Weather. — B, blue sky, be the atmosphere clear or heavy; C, clouds, passing clouds; D, drizzling raiu; F, foggy; G, gloomy, dark weather; H, hail; L, lightnings M, misty; 0, overcast, the whole sky covered with thick clouds; IJ,1 J , parsing showers; Q, squally, R, liiiu. continued ram; S, snow; T.- 'thunder; V, ugly, threatening appearance; Z, Tiazy. FORECAST. At 9 a.m. the following forecast was issued {or the subsequent 24 hours: — Winds. — Easterly winds, strong to gale, generally, aud especially northwaid ot Faiewell Spit and Kaikoura. Barometer.— Fall everywhere. Sea.— Considerable on all the eastern coast northward of KaiKoura; rough in Cook and Foveaux Straits; moderate swell elsewhere, and probably increasing generally. Tides.— High northward of East Cape; good thence to Kaikoura; low on the west coast of Uie North Island, and poor on the west coast of the South; moderate elsewhere. Warning signals lor easterly gales are exhibited at Cape Maria Van Dieraen, Tiritiri, East Cape, Capes Campbell, Farewell Spit, Stephen Island, Nugget Point, and Centre Island.
