The annual meeting of the Wellington Ladies' Christian Association, the /Qexandva Home Committee, and the Levin Home Committee, wu held in St. John's Schoolroom yesterday afternoon. The chair was occupied by the Rev. Mr. Crlasson, who opened the meeting with prayer. Mrs. Menzies, the president of the W.L.C.A., read the thirty-second annual report, which stated that owing to the number of other institutions, the association had become practically a huge Dorcas Society. It had been i%elieved of its old people by the old-age pensions, also of the orphanages and relieving homes of the orphans, and there were no longer mothers' meetings, etc., to report upon, as in previous years. The Dorcas Society continued its good work, and was still "under the able control of 'Mrs. Annie Anderson, assisted by Mesdames Badham and yon Dadelszen. The retirement of Mrs. Neil M'Lean from the committee had been received with regret, and it necessitated the appointment of a new treasurer. Six of the 1 twenty-three young women who had left the home during the year had gone to situations in the counti-y, taking their infants with them, and two had returned to their homes. The commit-tee-acknowledged 1 the services of Dr. Ha^dwick-Smith and his staff; of Miss Brown, of St. Helen's Home; and of the professional services of Mr. Izard.
