AMALGAMATION OF LABOUR

PARTIES. ANOTHER DISAPPOINTMENT. FBI TELEGRAPH — PBESS ASSOCIATION.] CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. The Trades Conference this morning received a telegram from the Miners' Federation, stating that it was impossible to hold a conference at present to discuss the question of amalgamation. General regret was expressed by delegates at the failure of the attempt to unite the two sections of labour, and many speakers urged that further efforts be made. The conference discussed at length a proposal that a plebiscite of members of the two divisions be taken on the question of amalgamation.
