DRAUGHTS CHAMPIONSHIP.
[BY TBLSGEAPH — PRESS ASSOCIATION.] DUNEDIN, 18th April. > The fourth day's play in th© Australasian draughts championship and handicap tournament took place to-day. Peuham defeated Bore-ham. Lucas and Brodie, ex-New Zealand champions, pls-yed six drawn games. Erickson and Campbell drop out of the contest. Brodie, Lucas, Penman, and Hilliker remain in the' winners' class, and Boreham, Egan and Morris in ' the losers' clas?. The following shows the positions at the end of the second round : — Brodie and Lucas, 6 draws each ; Penman, 2 wins, 1 draw ; Boreham, 1 win, 1 draw ; Hilliker, a bye. In the losers' class the fir^t round is : — Erickson, 1 win, 3 draws; Campbell,-! win, 3 draws; H. Morris, 2 wins, 3 draws ; Egan, 2 wins, 3 drawa. In the handicap tournament some have played eighteen games out of tho twenty-two required. J. Laing is leading with lLj> points, followed by J. Bruce 10, A. Matheson 94, R. Botting 9.
