GOLDEN BAY CEMENT COMPANY.
Mr. S. F. Strudwicke has been appointed chemist to the Golden Bay Cement Company. There were nine applications, which the directors reduced to three. Mr. Strudwicke has been for ten years with the Commonwealth Portland Cement Company, New South Wales, and for the last three years chief assistant^ with nine hands undor him, and during the last three months has been in. entire charge in the absence of the chief chemist. The Commonwealth works turn out 2000 lons of cement a week, and thore arc iix rotary kilns operating. Mr. Strudwicke will arrive in Wellington early in May, in time for the opening of. the Golden Bay works.
