At the sales, one hundred and fittyeight yearlings brought a total of 26,425 guinea-s. A Positano — Diploma colt topped the list at 1100 guineas, a St. Ambrose — Neva colt realised 900 guineas, a Positano — Lady Trenchant colt 610 guineas, and a Flavius — Goldgrip filly 875 guineas.
PEATH OF A WELL-KNOWN RACEHORSE. SYDNEY, This Day. The well-known stallion Havoc is dead. [Havoc, who has been at the stud in New South Wales, was bied by Mr. T. Morrin, Auckland, and was by that successful sire Nordenfeldt, out of Frailty. The latter was a Goldsborough mare, who threw such champions as Trenton, Niagara, Cuirassier, Zalinsky, Lancaster, and Siege Gun. Havoc, who was raced by the late Mr. W. R. Wilson, St. Albans, got some very useful stock, including several high-class sprinters. He was foaled in 1890.]
