! SOUTH AFRICAN MEASURE. GOVERNMENT AMENDMENT. PROPOSED DEDUCTIONS FROM WAGES. By Telegraph.— Press Association.— Copyight. (Received April 18, 9 a.m.) CAPETOWN, 17th April. The Union Government proposes to amend the Bill, read a second time in the Assembly yesterday, providing for the compensation for miners Buffering from miners' phthisis. The amendment authorises employers to deduct contributions from minera' wages towards a compensation fund. The Miners' Association demands the maintenance of the original form of the Bill.
