CHALLENGE SHIELD WON BY OTAGO. fnT TKt,EGRAPH— PRBSB ASSOCIATION.] AUCKLAND, 17th April. The_ New Zealand University Colleges' athletic tournament was continued to-day in delightful weathor. The Challenge Shield was won by Otago University with 15 points, Viotoria College being second with 13 points, and Canterbury College jholdors) third with 11. Auckland University College failed to secure a point. Three University records were established, J. N. Millard (Otago University) jumping 22ft Biin in the broad jump, and sft 6jin in the high jump, while A. S. Reid (Olago University), in putting the shot, achieved 37ft o£in. Smith (Canterbury) beat J. B. Parker and C. H. Taylor (Wellington), 6—o, 6—o. Combined Doubles. — First round : Miss Batkin and Johns (Auckland) beat Miss Farnio and White (Otago}, 6—5, 6—2. Semi-final: Miss C. Mosa and Jennings (Canterbury) beat Miss Batkin and Johns (Auckland), 6—l, 6—2.
