fBT TBLEGEAPH— -PBESS ASSOCIATION.] DUNEDIN, 17th April. The New Zealand Socialist Party held their fourth annual conference to-day. Delegates were present from different parts of New Zealand, Mr. J. W. Munro (Dunedin) presiding. The conference drew up and adopted a platform on the lines of that of the New Zealand Federation of Labour. It was decided to merge the Socialist paper Commonweal with the Maoriland Worker. A re-solution was passed upholding the efforts of the Christchurch branch in the direction of maintaining freedom of speech; and a resolution advocating the teaching of the principles of peace in the State Schools was also agreed to. The next conference will be held at Wellington. The Christchmch branch was appointed the executive body for the coming year.
