Arrived— Eegulus (1.5 a.m.), from Wellington. MOKOIA'S DEPARTURE. The Mokoia was late getting away for Sydney on Thursday night, on account of the Jarge amount of cargo to be bandied in a short time. When the vessel left a few minutes after midnight she was a full ship AVellington passengers numbered 135. TAINUI EXPECTED ON TUESDAY. Owing to her late departure (10 p m on Thursday) from Hobart, the Tainui 'is" not now expected hi Wellington until Tuesday morning. HUIA WITH TIMBER. An arrival in port yesterday was that of the auxiliary schooner Huia, from Tekopuru, with a cargo of 30,000 ft of iimber for Wellington, and 140,000 ft for Lyttelton. The vessel left the Kaipara bar at Boon on Tuesday, and utilised her steaming power to bring her into port. The Huia is berthed at the Wool Wharf, and will probably get away for Lyttelton this evening. CORINTHIC LEFT MONTE VIDEO. The Shaw, Savill, and Albion steamer Corinthic, which left Wellington on the 23rd March for London, continued her voyage from Monte Video last Wednesday afternoon. HINEMOA'S CUISINE SET ARIGHT. Just before the departure of the Government steamer Hinemoa from Wellington, trouble arose (as previously reported) amongst the crew in regard to the food supplied on the vessel. A conference between both parties was . held, and ifc was promised that things would be put right on the Hinemoa' b arrival at Auckland. Consequently on the vessel's arrival there on Tuesday, Captain BolJons ordered new culinary utensils, the condition of those now in use being one of the men's ■grievances. A new oil stove was also ordered, .so that the man on watch at night will be able to, brew himself a pot of cott'ee or tea. The crew is apparently well pleased with the altered 'conditions, and the whole trouble is now at an end. THE CANADIAN MAIL. The following passengers left Auckland by the Navua on Wednesday for Suva, where they join the R.M.S. Zealandia on Monday next for Vancouver :— Misses M. A. Pople, E. Gleeson, I. J, Parry, j and 30 steerage. Due at Nelson to-day from Greymouth the Mapourika will on arrival there tranship her passengers to the Pateena. The Mapourika will not leave Nelson again until Monday, on ■which day she is to sail for Picton and Wellington. The Tainui is bringing 12,000 cases of apples from Hobart for transhipment by the Arawa to London. The Ulimaroa, from Bluff, which arrived at Hobart on the afternoon of the 6th inst., ran into a heavy thunderstorm when two days out. The storm, accompanied by rain and vivid flashes of lightning, continued for several hours. During the voyage the Ulimaroa, with the aid of her "wireless," kept in touch with vessels in Sydney harbour. The greatest distance over vhich a message was transmitted was tIOO miles. A motor cruiser, built and owned by Messrß J. Bocock and R. Mitchell, of New Brighton, was launched in the Avon this week . This acquisition to the New Brighton fleet is 40ffc long by 10ft 3in beam, and has an Anderson 16 h.p. double cylinder engine double ignition The Te Miharq, as the vessel was named' will engage chiefly in deep sea fishing and trawling. Noon on Thursday is to be the sailing time of the Arawa for London. The vessel is at present completing loading at the Glasgow Wharf. On Wednesday next the Whakatane is expected to leave Wellington for Lyttelton to commence Homeward loading. Mr. A. Mcßride, chief engineer of the Mokoia, who is away at Auckland on holiday leave, is being relieved by Mr. T. Anderson, late of the Navua. The Compagnie Francaise dcs Phosphates de L'Oceanic is reported to have established a coal depot at Papeete. The Koromiko is to undergo survey and overhaul on arrival at Port Chalmers this trip. The Norfolk left Wellington at 520 n m on Thursday for Lyttelton, and the Kalkoiira at 6.45 a.m. yesterday for Wanganui. The Mapourika left Westport at 10 30 o'clock thiß morning for Nelson. The AVanaka leaves for Westporfc next Friday.
