We now ask you, in the same spirit in which you lent us the roster and kej', to meet as, and allow the matter to stand m abeyance at the present time until I, as chairman of tho sub -committee, have an opportunity of meeting your president and secretary on Friday week to discuss the date of our next meeting. It would not be proper at this sLage for me to tell you the form the resolution I propose to move at the council ' meeting would take, and I ask you to show your confidence in the sub-committee and allow the matter to stand over until Thursday week." Mr. A. Sutherland, secretary of the union, said :— "On behalf of the executive, I can see no objection to falling into line with your views.
