MR. BEDFORD'S CANDIDATURE.

Mr. W. Scott Bedford gave an address at Maranui last night, Mr. W. H. Morrali presiding. The candidate criticised to tome extent t-he Labour and Citizens' tickets. The Labour ticket was, he said, composed of men who represented one section of labour only, an,d another segtion of labour required representation outside oT these particular bodies, which Mr. Bedford 1 claims to represent. The Citizensticket was composed of one of the most conservative elements of the city, or the highei' section of the commercial life of Wellington, and he saw no reason why the Council should be monopolised by this ticket, although admitting at the same time that the present council had done a large amount of good.
