Recent appointments in.cixide the following New Zealanders: — MJessis. E. D. Co-urey, Clarke (field geologist) and R. A. Farquharson (petroJogist). [Sir. Courcy Clarks was for three years j pnor to 1910 engaged as an assistant .geologist' by the Mines' Department. He is at present studying at the Auckland University College. During hia last !
