The county councils acquired 33,335 acres for small holdings during 1910. The Board of -Agriculture has applied to the Development Commissioners for an annual grant of £20,000 to enable the councils tj appoint organisers to assist small holders in marketing goods and forming Co-operative Societies.. , [During 190'J the Local Government Board sanctioned tho borrowing by county councils of £660,912 'f0r tho purchase of land for small holdings, and £32,472 for adaptation and equipment. The total sum sanctioned sinoo the Act came into force and up to the end of last year was £826,289.]
