The award' made in connection with the demands of the Auckland branch of the Amalgamated Society of Ca-rpentera and Joiners has now been, placed upon the file of the court. The principal point of difference is that the minimum wage has been increased to Is 4^d per hour in the case of ordinary journeymen and to £2 ' 17s per week of forty-seven hours in the case of journeymen employed in factories. The union asked to nave the minimum wage increased to Is 6d per hour. The award will remaia in operation for ' one year as from Ist .May.
