SALVATION ARMY.

GENERAL BOOTH'S BIRTHDSY. Large meetings were addressed yesterday by Lieut.-Col. Birkenshaw, assisted by Major Johnson, at the South Wellington Salvation Army Hall. In tho afternoon the colonel swore in a number of recruits, and also conducted a dedication service. To-day w General Booth's 82nd birthday, and it will be celebrated by a gathering in the South Wellington Hall, ConstableBtreet, to-night, when Lieut.-Col. Birkenshaw will speak on "General Booth, the Man of the Age." Mr. R. A. Wright, M.P., will occupy the chair.
