Pictares of a sensational chavacter fignre prominently in the current programme at The King's Theatre. Of the Wild West order is <r Young Deer's Bravery," while " The Flag " is a patriotio French film of warfare in the Far East. "Drumsticks" is another dramagraph. There are numerous comics. The usual performances are l announced to-day. STAR PICTURES. The Star Pictures at Newtown are still ik. great attraction to residents of Wellington South, and there was a large audience at last night's exhibition. The pictures will be shown again to-night, and a change will be made on Monday. QUEEN'S PICTURES. The Wellington Garrison Band and Queen's Pictures will give another entertainment at Victoria Hall, Newtown. te-night. PASSION MUSIC. The Wellington 'Musical Union will give a performance of Bach's sacred work, "The Passion," on Tuesday next. This will be the first time that th« Work will be performed dn New Zealand during the Passion Week. Mi** Gladys Watkins, Misa May Driscoll, Dr. Fyffe, Mr. C? Clarkson, Mr. F. V. Waters, and Mr. L. Sayeock will be the soloists, Mr. A. W. vine, F.R.C.0., will presjde at the organ, Mr. Herbert Bloy will lead the orchestra, Mrs. E. D. Cachemaille will accompany on a Steinway piano, and Mr. Robert Parker will conduct. Previous to the Passion music Mt. Vina will play Bach's Prelude and Fugue in A Minor on the organ. FULLERS' SKATING RINK. The opening of the skating season iv Wellington will take place on Wednesday next, at 2 o'clock. The Skating Rink has been tastefully decorated, and a large number of electric lights and coloured 1 lamps have been added.*' The 'floor has been put in first-class condition. An orchestra, and a staff of attendants has been arranged for. Full particulars of the sessions will be found in another column. Seacon tickets are obtainable. The Catholic Young Men's Cricket Club held a smoke concert at Mawson's rooms last evening, to celebrate the club's winning of the third-class championship. The function was in every way a success. The Templars' Club, runners-up, forwarded a letter of congratulation. Mr. S. Moran occupied the chair. During the evening songe were given, and the following 'prizes were presented : — W. Warne, gold ' medal, highest batting average; P. | Toms, silver cigarette case, runner-up batting. Messrs J. O'Dowd and L. Carroll, who obtained the best bowling averages, also received presentations.
