The *.•; Queen, Captain Benner, arrived in port at one o'clock to-day. She left Auckland at 1 p.m. on the 13th ; arrived at Tauranga at 5 a.m. on the 14th ; left at 7 a.m. same day, and arrived at Napier at 5 p.m. on the 15th ; had light airs, calms, and fine pleasant weather, with smooth water throughout ; left Napier at 12 noon 17th irfst., had a fresh N.E, wind first part of the passage, latterly light head winds and fine weather throughout. The Government pairtle steamer Sturt, Captain Fairchild, left Napier at 8 a.m. on Saturday, and arrived here at 2 p.m. yesterday, having experienced fine weather all the way. A short distance from Napier she pawed the ship Stratnallan, from London to Napier, 126 days out, with thirty passengers on board, all well. • The schooner Falcon arrived in harbour at one o'clock yesterday afternoon. She left Blenheim on Saturday evening. She brings six passengers and a cargo of wool, The schooner f'ea Serpent, Captain Blair, arrived in harbour at 1 p.m. yesterday, from Cape Turnagain, with a cargo of wool. Two cases are set down for trial to-morrow at the Supreme Court— Warburton v. Pharazyn, and N.Z.S.N. Company v. Owen, Sidey CCo. c understand that the first telegrams n passed along the line on Tuesday, between Christchurch and Plcton, being between General Government officials at each place. For some time past the Bank of Otago has been giving j £3 16b 9d per ounce, and been obtaining eomesupport. On {Saturday, however, the agent of this bank and that of the Bank of New Zealand visited the Big Beach, when the companies held meetings, and the offer of £3 17s was accepted by the miners from the Bank of New Zealand. The ruling price has hitherto been £3 15s 3d. We do not know how long the price will remain at this figure.— Wakatip Mail.
