600 bales of wool were offered at today's sales. The attendance was fair, but only a,limited amount of business wa? done, Prices showed no improvement. The Supreme Court Quashed the convictions of Mfcg. Dickson and of Cunningham, convicted of horse-stealing. The Government purpose proclaiming a new township on the Darling, near Mount Murchison. M'Gell'B store, Lower George street, was burned down this morning. Loss, £2,000; of which £800 is insured. The Port Denison Times says the Salamander has brought from Cape York two Chinamen, who, with 300 others, were wrecked in the ship St. Paul, near New Caledonia, seven years ago. Three Chinamen who survived the wreck were captured by a cannibal tribe. One of them was afterwards rescued by a French vessel, and the other two have been sold from tribe to tribe, until the captain of the Blue Bell bought them from the natives of Lousiade group. Nothing is doing in mercantile circles. Parliamentary matters are uninteresting.
