A PUBLIC MEETING of those who take an interest in getting up of Sports for New Year's Day, will be held at the Mechanic's Institute on Friday Evening next, at 8 o'clock, for the purpose of forming a Committee of Management, and taking into consideration any suggestions calculated to conduct to a successful issue the amusements intended for the first day of January next.
