JURY LISTS.

An Act to provide for the formation of jury lists in newly settled districts [30. h October, 1865], Whereas by an Ordinance of the Governor and Legislative Council of New Zeiland intituled •' An Ordinance to ni.ike temporary provision for the constitution of Juries" it is provided that jury lists shall be prepared on the Ist day of February in every year or as soon thereafter as may be and whereas great inconvenience and expense would occasionally be saved if a jury list could be prepared for certain districts at other times Be it therefore enacted by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled and by the authority of the same as follows : — I. The short title of this Act shall be " The ProvisioualJ ury List Act 1865." 11. The Governor in Council may from time to time order that a jury list shall be formed for any district in such order defined at any time after the date of such order and prior to the first of February next following such date but in other respects in manner provided in the said Ordinance and every such list when transmitted to the Sheriff, shall be the jury list tor the district for which it shall have been formed until the 28t/i day of February next following the date of such oider and no longer anything in the said Ordinance lo the contrary notwithstanding.
