Old Bluchers Pipe.

-Voss's Gazette of Berlin publishes the following letter from Dr. Geist, of Dresden :—" I have in my possession the pipe which Prince Blucher smoked after the disastrous battle of lena, having received it from my late father, to whom it was given by my uncle, a trumpeter in Bluchers hussars. When the Prussians were retreating to Auerstadt, my uncle saw the pipe fall from Blucher'o sabretache, as the general was leaping over a ditch. My uncle immediately alighted, picked up the pipe, and carried it to the general, who refused to take it, testily replying : ' Since the battle is lost the pipe may go to the devil. You may keep it Geist. 1 The pipe is a small meerschaum, well browned, with a very short stem. A silver chain which attached tbe bowl to the tube has been lost."
