ACQUITTAL AND REINSTATEMENT OF MAJOR YON TEMPSKY.
It will be remembered that after the inquiry instituted into the charges preferred against Major Yon Tempsky, it was stated additional evidence from the Waikato would Ibe necessary before judgment be given. ' Since then the documents required have been received, and found favourable to the prisoner, who was yesterday discharged from arrest by order of the Governor. His Excellenoy, we understand, gave the gallant • Major the option of withdrawing . his resignatioD, which, on consideration, he agreed to do, and will be engaged in the service of the Imperial officer at Wanganui, probably in command of a mixed corps of Europeans and natives.
