" J5« Hawke's Bay Herald or the 9th inst. Is?tt?hd arrival of the St. Kilda has not put twin possession of news of importance. Skirmishing is reported in several quarters, and the news previously to hand from Tokomarua is confirmed. At Waiapu the colonial forces have undertaken no operations against the enemy's pa, Pukemaire, it being too strong to be taken without artillery, unless at a great sacrifice of life. This wanf, however is likely soon to be supplied, after which a good account will be given of the rebel occupants.
