RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT. This Day. (Before C. D. R. Ward, Esq., R.M.)
A person named Minchin charged Mr. Barry, proprietor of the Ship Hotel, with assault. Complainant stated that he dined at Barry's Hotel, and afterwards fell asleep, when he was suddenly aroused by a demand lor his fare, and upon remarking that he did not consider he should pay it, was seized by Air. Barry and dragged out to the back gate where defendant kicked him and struck him in the face. From the evidence of t lie barman and the constable to whom Mr. Barry gave plaintiff in charge, it appeared that Minchin was in a state of intoxication, and witnesses did not see any assault committed. The case was dismissed. • Levy v. Skeet, acting on behalf of Town Board — Plaintiff sought to recover 7s. for 14 feet curbing overcharged by the Board. Judgment was given for amount and costs. Mountain v. Rollo ; debt JE1 — Judgment in default and costs. Rollo v. Charles Bull— Debt £15 2s. This case was adjourned until to-morrow, to enable plaintiff to produce account in full. Griffia v. Morgan, and Morgan v. Griffin — Adjourned until to-morrow.
