RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT. This Day.
Mr. Ward not having yet sufficiently recovered from his late illness, did not resume his duties. J. F. X Wright, Esq., J.P., and W. Hicksop, Esq, J.t., were on the bench, and disposed of Uie following cases :— A man named Davis, charged with drunkenness, was fined 10m. and costs ; Bernard Donnelly, a similar off .'nee, fined 20s, or seven days' imprisonment, with hard labour ; Dwyer, the same offunce, reprimanded and discharged. A fewcivil debt cases were disposed of, and a trooper, named Fitz.naurice, charged with a breach of the Arms Act, remanded to VVanganui. ___________
