The Evening Post. FRIDAY, JUNE 16, 1865.

The adjourned meeting of the Wellington Chamber ot Commerce was held at three o'clock yesterday afternoon, when the Chairman, C. Fharazyn, Esq., the Vice-Chairman, E. Peaice, Esq., Messrs. Bethune, Drnnsfleld, W. W. Taylor, Krull, A. P. Stuart, G. H. Luxford, and G. Hunter, were present. The minutes of the former meeting were read and confirmed. The Chairman pointed out that the business of the meeting was the consideration of the Hon. the Attorney-General* circular, and wished to know whether the member a had determined on the reply that should be given. He himself had considered the questions contained in it, and had looked over the replies given by the Lyttelton Chamber, which struck him as being very much to the

point. He would also like to mention time he had attended his Honor the Judge in Chambers, who was preparing a few suggestions for the Attorney-General, and who would like to have an expression of the views entertained hy the Chamber. After a long discussion, Mr. Pearce quoted an article from the Economist wl'ioh h" thought grasped the whole question. Hu differed from the opinions of the Lyltelton Chamber as regarded having anything to do with the Courts. In his opinion the loss of Ipw they had, the better it would be for them. Finally, as nothing definite could be settled, Mr. Pe.irce proposed, and Mr Kntll seconded, the following resolution, which was carried — "That a Committee be appointed to draft a reply to the Attorney-General, to he sub mitted to a general meeting to be convened thw day week, the 22nd inst., the Committee to consist of the Chairman, Messrs. Taylor, Stuart, Krull, and the Mover." The Chairman advised that the Committed commence thtir duties at eleven o'clock on Monday next. There being no further business to transact, the meeting separated.
