Owingr to the departure of the English mail, the usual fortnightly meeting of the Town Board was postponed until three o'clock this afternoon. Yesterday evening an inquest was held on the body of James Gooderich — one of the seamen belonging to the ship Chapman, who was drowned on Sunday last — at Barrett's Hotel, at four o'clock, before Dr. Beor, coroner of the district, when a seaman named William Russell identified the body and explained the accident by which death had pecured. The policeman who brought the body to town was also examiued, and the jury returned a verdict of accidentally drowned by the capsizing of a boat. A portion of Foley's troupe arrived here to-day from Nelson, per Airedale, and some really beautiful animals are met with through the streets, of whose performance we will shortly be enabled to speak. The Companyhas been highly spoicen of by the Nelson papers.
