We have reliable information that some Thames natives (whose names we withhold for special reasons) came into the city yesterday with a sample of gold from the Thames district. They first proceeded to the Superintendent's office ; but as his Honor is now on a tour in Albertland, the natives then proceeded to the office of Mr. David Graham, and they were then examined by Mr. D. Graham and a gentleman who was a member of the late Ministry, as to the value of their discovery. The natives produced two pounds weight (2 lbs.) of gold. They stated that the diggings were alluvial, and that they would not disclose the precise locality until they had been assured of the £2,000 reward offered. We give the report just as it has reached us j but no doubt immediate steps

will be taken to test the value of the discovery, and to make public deta"s in which nil are so much interested
