The Evening Post. THURSDAY, MAY 11, 1865.

V The Borai 1 arrived In harbour yesterday evening, having left the Downs on the sth February. She is a very fine ship of 900 tons, clipper-built, and is commanded by William Hall, Esq. She crossed the equator ou the Ist March, and made the coast of New Zealand on the 7th instant. There were three births and four deaths during the voyage, She brings 203 passengers, fWe understand that Messrs. Watt, Kells> and Brycc, have been returned for Wanganui. The s.s. Airedale will be due on Saturday morning, from Picton, Nelson, Taranaki, and the Manukau, and she will leave on Sunday, for the South, with the supplementary mail for Australia and Europe. Mr. J. H. Wallace's land sale took place yesterday. Section 4, Lowry Bny, was sold to Mr. D. Dick for £200 cash. Mr. W. B. Ehodes purchased 56 acres at Upper Mungaroa for 20a per acre. Several other properties were put up (both town and country), at reserved prices, private sales of which are being made. There were four cases of drunkenness at the Police Court te-day. John Riley was fined ss, or 48 hours ; John O'Connor, 10s or 48 hours ; Edward Cording, 5s or 48 hours ; Mary Ann M'Gregor, s•or 48 hours. Margaret Gill was charged with conveying liquor to prison, and fined 10s. A few debt cases were heard s— J. H. Wallace v. Wm. Collier, claim £16— judgment by consent, with costs : same v. Hollister, debt £12 133 6d— judgment for plaintiff, with costs ; same v. James Mears, debt £4— Judgment for 13s 2d, without costs. A meeting of the Karori Band of Hope wad held last night, About 30 children were present. Mr. Fawcett took the chair, and Messrs. Levy Prince and Godber addressed the meeting. The " Colleen Bawn " still continues its successful, course at the Theatre Royal, and each representation brings a host of admirers, the efforts of the management being fully appreciated. The various characters, as heretofore, are well sustained, and the scenery attracts universal admiration. We are promised, on Monday next, a change in the performance — " Aladdin, or the Wonderful

Scamp," a Chinese burlesque, being announced. Mr. Massey is hard at work, preparing for its production ; and as , the management spare no expense to produce a good effect, "Cinderella" will probably be outrivalled. The theatre will be closed this evening. ___^_______»«.
