TO THE EDITOR OF THE EVENING POST. Wellington, 24th April.

Sir— l have read with no Hi tie amusement two letters lately appearing in your paper, signed " Scrutator," evidentlj intended to trumpet forth the great services which Mr. J. H. Wallace is supposed to have rendered bj* bringing forward motions In the Council. The fact is — however invaluable in themselves some of those motions may have been, the mode in which they were brought forward was so bungling, and the arguments adduced by that gentleman so absurdly shallow, that his advocacy in vine cases out of ten did more harm than good ; indeed his twaddle only nauseated the Council. I am, &c, M.P.C.
