I fully appreciate the services of his Honor the Superintendent for the benefit of this ! Province, and am a supporter of his policy ; as j lam convinced that if lie had a different Exei cutive (and 1 may add a slightly different I Council) so many complaints would not have | been made against that policy. | Should you favour me with the support j necessary to secure me a seat in the Council Chamber, I pledge myself to be no supporter ! of any political party, but to attend regularly ' in my place, listen attentively to the arguments pro and con that may be adduced on any question, and, weighing the evidence, take a common sense view of the matter, and vote accordingly. I am but a young colonist, which is a guarantee, I think, that I shall support any measure for the advancement of the Province. On the I shall be prepared to answer any questions that may be put to me. In the meantime, I have the honour to be, Gentlemen, Your obedient servant, , T. W. STANDWELL.
