Public attention is drawn to the following clause in the ordinance of the Provincial Council, No. 12, Session, 1853-54 " If after the establishment of any market, and such notice thrreof as aforesaid, any person shall sell or expose for sale any articles or marketable commodities usually sold in markets, in any of the streets, entries, lanes, or other public passage or places in the town in which a market shall have been established, other than the place or places which may be so appointed by the Commissioners for holding a market, every such person shall, on conviction thereof, before a Justice of the Peace, for every such offence, forfeit the sum of twenty shillings. ?* Provided/ that nothing herein contained shall be construed to extend to prevent any person from selling or exposing for sale any marketable commodities, matters or things whatsoever jn his dwelling house or shop in any part of ihe town."
