Sm— A paragraph appears in the Independent of the 23rd inst,, in which it is stated that I was dismissed from the police force. This statement is totally false, as I left the force at my own request. Wi'h regard to the charge tiiat I left my wife, taking with We £-200 belonging to her, I have to say it is equally untrue ; the money was stolen by some person or persons out of my box, together with some deeds. lam, &c, A.
