Discovery of copper ore reported in Western District, near Bogan river. Three women arrested for aiding Hall's gang at Binda. The Cowper Ministry has been re-elected to Parliament. The Chinese bushranger who shot Constable Ward has been taken, after desperate resistance. Government organising party to hunt up bushrangers. Hall's gans?, after desperate encounter with police, abandoned their horses and escaped. 2Rth February. The police, guided by one of Hall's bush telegraphs, have found a plant containing bills and cheques of large amount, the proceeds of various mail robberies. A meeting of William Nicholson's creditors was held to-day. An offer of 10s in the pound was refused, and a committee appointed to examine the assets. The annual meeting of the Mutual Provi-
dent Society was a very stormy one. The shareholders refused to accept the report, and referred it back to the directors. Business is steady, Quotations unchanged. DAYLBSFORD * February 28. Bairn 1 and Pringle, the alleged saUers of the Bank of England claim, are discharged. There was no legal offence in the information furnished against them. ADELAIDE. Harvest nearly over ; average yield about eleven bushels per acre Chamber of Commerce has adopted resolutions in favor of making Adelaide a free port. Two rinsleadcrs of a strike at Wallaroo Smelting Works sentenced to three months' imprison merit with hard labor. Great distress in >orthern 'settlements from want of »am.
