RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT. This Day. (Before C. D. R. Ward, Esq., R.M.)

After a great number of minor debt cases, Mr. John Plimmer accused a person of the name of Haslam with using threatening and abusive language towards him. Mr. laard appeared for the defendant, and numerous witnesses were called, who proved the offence for the defendant. It was urged that the plaintiff was trespassing on his premises. The case was then adjourned till Thursday. Constable Doran brought up John Heard, on a charge of being drunk and riding furiously through the street. The charge was clearly proved, and the prisoner was fined 20s.
