"VTOTICE is hereby given, that about 4800 1* -acres of land in the Akitio Block, in the ast Coast District, will be put lip for sale by Public Auctim, at this office, on Friday, the 18ih day of March next, at one o'clock, p.m., at the upset price of ss. per acre, and in allotments varying in size from 162 to 320 acres. REQUISITION TO MR. JOSEPH MASTERS. WE, the undersigned, Electors of Wellington, request that you will allow yourself to be put in nomination as a Candidate for the Superintendence*, at the ensuing election. In addressing this requisition to you, we are actuated by the sentiment that no other man but yourself c>uld be lound in the Province, whose sterling worth, irreproachable honesty, spotless character, and consistent political career, so eminently point him out as the choice of the people for bucli •an important trust. The sentiments c xpressed by you at a late Lyceum meeting, the spontaneous and decided assurance that you then gave, of inaugurating a sweeping and thorough reform in. the body politic, have convinced us of this ; and we therefore ask you frankly to come forward. Neither in Dr. Featherston, nor in Mr. Borlase, have we a candidate such as the present emergency demands.
