THE TOWN BOARD. TO THE EDITOR OF THE EVENING POST.
Slit —In reading the doings of the Town Board meeting, I see Mr. Wallace said that the fencing in of the park, &c, had cost a great deal of money, and tthatt t is perfectly true ; and I read that it is probable that they should invite tenders for renting the park. The on'y objection I see is this— if let, they
will have large cattle always depastured thereon, and in the wet season of the year would do mor^tlamage than two years* rentn t would pay. Could they let it to any on the condition 6f doing certain work thereon, and place only sheep onit, it would be correct, but not otherwise ; but until something more is done than at present, the money already spent Js completely thrown away. I should like to see more done in it, as I believe with Mr. Borlase, that it ought to be made fit for a cricket-ground and other athletic aad healthful games. I am, &c, Regularity.
