SAUCE. LEA AND PERRINS' WORCESTERSHIRE 5 SAUCE, Pronounced by connoisseurs* to be the only good sauce, and applicable to every variety of dish. Extract of a letter from a medical gentleman at Madras to his brother at Worcester, May, 1851 .— " Tell Lea and Perrin that their sauce is highly esteemed in India, and is, in my opinion, the most palatable as well as the most wholesome sauce that is made. Caution. — Lea and Perrins beg to caution the public against spurious imitations of their celebrated Worcestershire Sauce. L. and P. have discovered that several of the Foreign markets have been supplied with spurious imitations, the labels closely resembling those of the genuine sauce, and in one or more instances the name of L. and P. forged. L. and P. will proceed against any one who may manufacture or vend such imitations, and have instructed their correspondents in the various parts of the world, to advise them of any infringement of their rights.
