The annual meeting of the parishioners of St. John's Church, Leeston, was held in the Parish Room last night. There was a deficit of £37 6s Bd, but on the;. other hand there was over £40 of subscriptions due and unpaid. The reports showed that all organisations were becoming increasingly, active and efiacient, viz., the choir and"*•*__ organists, the M.U. and the Bible- *'. classes. The thanks to all these were recorded by the meeting with acclamation, and fitting appreciation of the work of the vicar was also expressed. Mr W. Hurford was chosen to be minister's warden and Mr T. J. Free was elected people's warden. The following are the vestry: Dr. B. Volckman and Messrs F. B. Woodard, R. H. Ford, D. Duff and C. M. Blake. Mr S. Bongard was elected auditor. The vicar spoke of the improvement in the work at Doyleston.
