LEESTON v. NEW BRIGHTON.

I On Thursday the Ellesmere Bowling Association's team defeated Lyttelton by the narrow margin of one point. The performance was repeated on Satitrklay by the Leeston team, which defeated New Brighton, after a very exciting match, by one point. The match took place on the Leeston green. The afternoon was dull and a trifle cold. The visitors: were cordially welcomed by Mr S. Johnston, president of the Leeston Club, and Mr W. Drake, president of Simmer ? Club, made a suitable acknowledgment, • and extended an invitation to the local club to pay a visit to Brighton. An excellent cup of afternoon tea was dispensed by the Leeston ladies.
