Sale of Stud Stock
Pyne, Gould, Guinness, Ltd., in conjunction with Messrs H Matson and Co., held a dispersal sale on Monday of the late Mr W,- B. Cunningham's We^tburn Shorthorn herd and English Leicester flock. There was a good attendance of buyers from all parts of Canterbury, and one from the North Island. Bidding was fairly brisk, some of the younger cattle attracting much attention. Aged cow, Westburn, Queen of Strathmore.—Canterbury Agricultural College, 94 guineas. Aged cow, Westburn Mimosa.— ■ L. White, Rakaia, 90 guineas. - Three-year :old heifer, Westburn Queen of Isla.- —L,, White, Rakaia, 101 guineas. ', Two-year old heifer,.Westburn Queen of Dee.—Miss Cunningham, 100 guineas.
Two-year old heifer, Westburn Queen 'of _ Ullie.—J. F- Scott, Opawa, 71 guineas. Yearling heifer, AVestburn Queen of Don.—.D G. Wriglit,.Winslow., 90 guineas. v Heifer calf, Westburn Monica— F. SmithpCust, 100 guineas. There was not a great "demand for English Leicester sheep, but all the lots were disposed of. A one-shear stud ram was purchased by Mr L. White, of Rakaia, at 23 guineas. . "
