WAIHORA SPORTS CLUB.
A meeting of those interested in the revival of the Waihora Sports Club was held in the Motukarara Hall on Thursday night last. There was an attendance of sixteen and Mr F. Miller was voted to the chair. The statement of accounts as presented by Mr C. F. Bowley, showed that, after deducting some £12 for patriotic purppses during the war, there was still a balance of £18 in. hand. Oii the motion of Mr W. C. Milter, seconded by Mr J. Woods, it was unanimously agreed to revive the sports meeting. Mr A. G. Jackson was elected tion. secretary. A discussion arose as to when the sports should be held. The old fixture was December 16th, but it was stated that another club in the Ellesmere district had claimed that day. Other days were suggested, and it was eventually left to a sub-committee to go into the matter and report at the annual meeting, which was to be held later m. . - A ground committee was set up 3onsisting of Messrs E. Hodgen, F. Miller, J. Woods, L. Harris, W. Debbie, W, C. Miller and the secretary. The committee was instructed to immediately get to work on the track, which is to be broken up t and sown down in grass this autumn, and. to spare no pains in making it one of the best country tracks. Several members present offered the use of their teams and the offers were accepted with thanks. Mr F. Miller was appointed to take charge of the work.
