School Committees.
SOUTHBRIDGE A special meeting of the ; above _ Committee was held on Monday evening, there being PRESENT Messrs Frame (chairman,) Burns, Penfold, Willis and the Rev E. Whitehouse. The chairman explained that the meeting had been summoned to -iscusß the subject of the annual school concert. He bad invited, Mr Gates' to attend and give his opinion. -, .^ > ; j . , Mr Gates said that the' noise of work on the new building seriously, interfered with the school, and that when the roofing and the inside carpentering were going on, he did not know but that it would be impossible to teach at all. If they could manage to keep school going, the concert could easily be ; held at the usual time ; if, on the other hand, it was found necessary to dismiss school, fiere wonld be great difficulty m getting the children together to practise. -> ■ The committee discussed : the : advis ability of postponing the concert till after Christinas, but decided against doing so. ■ - i Ultimately,-it was resolved, oh motion of Rev E. Whitehouse, seconded by Mr Burns, to hold, the concert on the 11th DecemberThe meeting then .terminated; .. t
