The Bench hold the charge proved and fined accused 20s and costs, including the expense of four witnesses. ILLEGALLY HERDING CATTLE. William Luddy was charged with allowing two cows to be horded on Matthews's road (being a public aoad) on , 7th ihst. F. McCartin gave evidence as to seeing Mrs Luddy herding the cows on the road on the day m question. Defendant's cattle, horses and pig 3 were a nuisance to witness, as they were continually trespassing and doing damage. He called his two sons, who gave similar evidence. For the defence, T. Griffiths said he had let a paddock to defendant for grazing purposes ; he had not seen cattle herded on the road. Mrs Luddy denied the charge, saying Bho only took the cattle to the paddock and was not on the road longer than was necessary. The Bench had no doubt the cattle were herded on the road, and inflicted a fine of ss. The' Court then rose,
